The Nazareth Consensus

The Nazareth Consensus presents an argument and rationale for expanding the Order of Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to include the category of Commissioned Minister in order to:
  • Affirm the breadth of the call to ministry that comes from God to the entire Christian community
  • Recognize, validate, and prepare pastoral leaders for whom graduate education and ordination are not appropriate or feasible
  • Provide ministerial leadership within the changing circumstances of congregational life.
