Busy work? No, good work.

Charisse Knorr I have hopes that this semester is going to be one of the most important ones of my life. I am continuing to strive toward my degree in Business Administration, but I am also exploring career opportunities. By interviewing and shadowing people who are successful in the fields that I am interested in, I will be able to understand a little bit better where my skills actually lie.

This semester I am extremely busy, but I feel as if it is going to benefit me on so many levels. The most important thing right now is my school. I am trying to finish my four-year degree in only three years, so I am taking on a full load. I am also a cheerleader for the Basketball team. My other on-campus activity that keeps me busy is my Delta Gamma sorority. My off-campus duties include work and taking care of my new puppy.

Even though my schedule seems full with just these activities, I still stay very active in the church. My HELM covenant is a mix between exploring and volunteering at different organizations around my community, and interning at the Church Relations Office on campus for Founders Day. I also attend Wednesday night worship and a young adult bible study on Sunday evenings. I am also on the planning committee for the HELM Leadership Conference for 2010, and in March will be traveling to St. Louis to work with my partners on that.

This semester seems very busy, but on the other hand extremely exciting. I am very happy that I am so involved both on campus and within the church. Being a part of some many different things feeds my soul. The exploratory steps that I am taking are teaching me a lot about myself, as well as what the future could hold for me. But most important is that the place I see God the most is inside other people, and keeping myself busy by surrounding myself with them always makes me feel closer to God.
