  • The edge of independence
    When Kathryn Welch was choosing where to go to college, putting some distance between herself and home, the desire for independence, was one of her considerations. A recent family crisis, though, made that distance feel unbearable. Instead of feeling isolated and alone, Kathryn turned to her church homes in Lexington and Baltimore for prayer. The support she's felt from her larger prayer family has helped her realize that she needs a faith community to help her keep perspective.
