Chapman University is a comprehensive liberal arts and sciences university founded in 1861 by members of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Located in historically-preserved Old Towne Orange, mid-way between Los Angeles and San Diego, Chapman enrolls approximately 4,000 students from 40 states, and features a high-energy, outdoor-oriented living and learning environment. Although Disciples-affiliated, Chapman attracts students from a variety of faith backgrounds.

At Chapman, 41 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate-level programs of distinction are offered through the Wilkinson College of Letters and Sciences, AACSB-accredited Argyros School of Business and Economics, School of Film and Television, School of Communication Arts, CTC-accredited Graduate School of Education, NASM-accredited School of Music, APTA-accredited Graduate Division of Physical Therapy, and ABA-accredited School of Law.

Chapman is a selective university ranked as a "first tier" and "best value" institution by U.S. News and World Report. Annually, offers of admission are usually made to slightly over 50% of applicants.

Chapman's ivy-covered and tree-lined campus is a blending of historically-preserved and cutting-edge facilities. Recently-completed Beckman Hall for business and information technology features 21st century internet and satellite capabilities.

Chapman students are able to involve themselves in a myriad of stewardship and community action-oriented activities. Campus clubs and organizations, including D.O.C. (Disciples on Campus), feature a community service component.

90% of entering freshmen take advantage of some form of financial assistance. Chapman's Early Aid Estimator program enables students to determine, before admission, the amount of financial assistance available.
